Datasheet: RW 118
The hot cutting wire RW 118 has high strength at elevated temperatures and is used for cutting polystyrene (EPS) and or heat-sealing polypropylene bags.
To achieve the best cut, adjust the temperature and cutting speed. The material type and it’s density will influence the cutting speed.
Available in all profile options
RW 118 density, electrical resistivity at 20°C, operating temperature, melting point and coefficient of expansion is indicated in the table below:
Density | Electrical Resistivity at 20°C | Maximum Operating Temperature | Melting Point | Coefficient of Expansion |
---|---|---|---|---|
8.18 g/cm³ | 118 microhm • cm | 300 °C | 1370 °C | 12.7 µm/m °C (20 – 100 °C) |
0.296 lb/in³ | 710 ohm. Circ. mil/ft | 572 °F | 2500 °F | 7.1 x 10-6 in/in °F (70 – 212 °F) |
